I have been waiting patiently for the Samsung Galaxy SII for at least 6 months, looking for everything I could find about it in anticipation of buying it. But months and months went by and now it is the end of September and only Sprint has released it. I live in a hard spot for wireless connections and have only had luck with AT&T and Verizon connections in our home. I don’t really want to experiment with Sprint again, as I have tried them in the distant past without positive results. It was announced last week that AT&T and Sprint would be releasing it but AT&T has some delays, so have had to hold off.
All in all, that is not the bad part, I understand that the carrier’s could have those types of delays. The breaker for me is that there are a number of phones that are scheduled to be released by the end of October, this year, that are looking to be better phones.
The Galaxy SII was released months ago all over the world, but not here!! If they could have released this phone 2 months ago, I would have purchased it hands down and the carrier would have had me locked up for 2 years!! Now? I am going to wait to see the HTC Vigor, Droid Bionic and the Samsung Nexus Prime. All three of these are rumored to be an improvement over the Galaxy SII and I will definitely wait to see if this ends out being true.
What slays me is that this could have been the biggest phone to hit the states ever but they just waited too long. Buying now is problematic. By the time you learn how to use it, it will be old news. If it would have been released 3 to 6 months before any of these other phones then by all means I would have bitten and so would have a lot of others!
I haven’t completely crossed the Galaxy SII off my list, but the odds of me getting one have gone WAY down and I am betting that I am not the only one who feels this way.
